In line with her five-year electoral cycle, the Republic of Mozambique will hold Presidential, Legislative and Provincial Elections on 09 of October 2024. Article 3 of the revised SADC Principles and Guidelines Governing Democratic Elections (2021), provides for SADC to observe all general elections held in its Member States.

SAMIDRC was deployed on 15th December 2023 and mandated to support the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to restore peace and security to create a secure environment in the Eastern DRC. To achieve the Mandate, a high level of cooperation is needed with the Congolese Army, the Forces Armees de la Republic Democratique du Congo (FARDC).
