Following the celebration of its 40th anniversary in 2020, SADC’s vision and principles have never been more relevant and integral to finding solutions and stability within the Southern African region in 2022. Our Member States are committed to working tirelessly together, united in the pursuit of long-lasting peace and economic recovery to improve the livelihoods of our people. This SADC Success Stories series is an important reminder of how we have reached milestones, achieved success in progress, and overcome many adversities.
In our Mountain Kingdom, we pride ourselves in the progress we have made in conserving water in our highlands – the most prized resource, and making sure our communities in the lowlands have the benefit of quality potable water. We have seen how the tarring of the iconic Sani Road has enhanced road safety and tourism to the advantage of our nation. We are realising the efficiencies of coordinated border management and how it can be seen as a potential solution for the challenges inherent to border management in the 21st Century.
