The Government of Malawi has received financing from the African Development Fund (ADF) toward the cost of the Competitiveness and Job Creation Support Project (CJCSP or the Project), and intends to apply part of the agreed amount for this loan to payments under the contract for the consultancy to assist with developing Investment Profiles for the CJCSP.
The activities include development of investment profiles, investment mission and capacity building of newly established Malawi Investment and Trade Centre (MITC). Regarding investment profiles the Centre needs well researched investment projects that can be marketed to potential investors. The Centre has for so long marketed investment potential of Malawi in general terms and the outcome has been far from impressive. In addition, the Consultant hired to come up with the profiles will work with officers within the Centre to build their capacities on the development of profiles. The estimated period of execution is two (2) months.
The Government of Malawi through the Ministry of Industry and Trade now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills, etc.). Consultants may constitute joint-ventures to enhance their chances of qualification.
Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the African Development Bank’s “Rules and Procedures for the use of Consultants” (May 2008 Edition, Revised July 2012), which is available on the Bank’s website at http://www.afdb.org. Borrowers are under no obligation to shortlist any consultant who expresses interest.
