The Institutional Support to African Climate Institutions Project (ISACIP) has received a Grant from the African Development Bank toward the cost of the Institutional Support to African Climate Institutions Project (ISACIP).and intends to apply part of the agreed amount for this grant to payments under the contract for:

  1. Database Management Expert
  2. Communications Expert
  3. Project Finance Officer
  4. Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Expert

The Institutional Support Project to the African Climate Institutions (ISACIP) funded by the African Development Bank (ADB) aims to strengthen the capacity of African climate centres to generate climate information and to allow their wide dissemination to users end. These centres are: the African Centre of Meteorological Applications for Development (ACMAD) Regional Centre for Agro meteorology and Operational Hydrology (AGRHYMET), IGAD Climate Prediction and Applications Centre (ICPAC) and SADC Climate Services Centre (SADC-CSC) former Drought Monitoring Centre (DMC). This project will strengthen the capacity of various African scientists to generate relevant information on climate and to make them available to end users referred through appropriate channels.

The implementation of the project will be done through three components:

  • The production of climate-related information
  • Institutional strengthening
  • Coordinating the project

As part of the implementation of this project, ACMAD a mandate across the continent, acts as an Executing Agency and coordinates the implementation of the project at three other beneficiary institutions.

The services included under this project are for:

  1. Database Management Expert
  2. Communications Expert
  3. Project Finance Officer
  4. Planning Monitoring and Evaluation.

The Southern African Development Community (SADC) now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested consultants must provide their CVs and information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions.

Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the African Development Bank's "Rules and Procedures for the use of Consultants", dated January 2000, which is available on the Bank's website at http://www.afdb.org.
