The Secretariat of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) has the pleasure of announcing the winners of the 2024 - 2025 SADC Quality Awards Competition for companies and individuals in the SADC region. The competition recognises both public and private organisations that implement quality systems, procedures, and processes, while adhering to international standards in their operations to promote sustainable economic development and growth.
The SADC Quality Awards Competition feature five categories: Individual of the Year, Exporter of the Year, Service of the Year, Product of the Year, and Company of the Year. In the 2024/2025 cycle, the Secretariat received 30 entries across all categories, comprising 27 companies and 3 individuals, submitted through an online repository.
Each category honours deserving Large Enterprises as well as Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs). The Individual of the Year category is dedicated exclusively to honouring three exceptional individuals.
In the Individual of the Year category, Ms. Tazviona Lois Ngonyamo from the Republic of Zimbabwe was the second runner-up, Mr. Goodwill Matsebula from the Kingdom of Eswatini was the first runner-up, and Prof. Bendantunguka Phillibert Tiisekwa. from the United Republic of Tanzania emerged as the overall winner.
In the Exporter of the Year category for Large Enterprises, East Coast Oils and Fats from the United Republic of Tanzania was the second runner-up, RFG Eswatini from the Kingdom of Eswatini was the first runner-up, while Bigtree Beverages from the Republic of Zambia was the overall winner in this category.
In the Service of the Year category for Small to Medium Enterprises, the overall winner was Safety Management Training Services from the Republic of Zambia. For Large Enterprises under the Service of the Year category, Bitumen World from the Republic of Zimbabwe attained second runner-up position. Cerba Lancet Eswatini Laboratories from the Kingdom of Eswatini was the first runner-up, and Zambia Industrial Commercial Bank from the Republic of Zambia was the overall winner.
In the Product of the Year category for Small to Medium Enterprises, Strike Dishwashing Liquid, by Formula Chemicals from the Republic of Zimbabwe was the first runner-up, while Double-Roman Concrete Roof Tile, by Swazi Tiles Investments from the Kingdom of Eswatini was the overall winner. Among Large Enterprises for the Product of the Year category, Bwana Sukari Sugar, by Kilombero Sugar Company from the United Republic of Tanzania was the second runner-up. Bigtree Cornflakes, by Nyama Soya from the Republic of Zambia was the first runner-up. Rhinolite Multipurpose Plaster, by Saint-Gobain Construction Products from the Republic of Zimbabwe was the overall winner.
In the Company of the Year category for Small to Medium Enterprises, CAPS from the United Republic of Tanzania received second runner-up position, Legacy Manufacturers Limited from the Republic of Zambia was the first runner-up, and the National Disaster Management Agency from the Kingdom of Eswatini was the overall winner. For Large Enterprises in the Company of the Year category, Tobacco Processors Zimbabwe from the Republic of Zimbabwe was the second runner-up, Said Salim Bakhresa Company from the United Republic of Tanzania was the first runner-up, and Eswatini Meat Industries from the Kingdom of Eswatini was the overall winner in this category.
SADC congratulates all winners of the 2024-2025 SADC Quality Awards Competition and appreciates their role in promoting business excellence, sustainable development, and quality assurance in the region.
