INVITATION FOR BIDS
FOR SUPPLY, DELIVERY AND INSTALLATION OF HYDROMETRIC EQUIPMENT FOR THE FIVE (5) SWCSP PROJECT IMPLEMENTING AGENCIES IN MOZAMBIQUE, TANZANIA AND ZIMBABWE
This Invitation for Bids (IFB) follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for this Project that appeared in United Nations Development Business online (UNDB online) on 28 February 2006, and on the African Development Bank's Internet Website (www.afdb.org).
The Southern African Development Community (SADC) has received a Grant from the African Development Fund in various currencies), towards the cost of the implementing the "Shared Watercourses Support Project for Buzi, Rovuma and Save River Basins", and intends to apply part of the proceeds of this Grant to eligible payments under a contract for supply and delivery of hydrometric equipment for the five (5) river basin management institutions in Mozambique, Tanzania and Zimbawe.
The five beneficiary institutions which are also the implementing agencies for the project are the following:
Administração Regional de Ãguas do Centro (ARA-Centro), located in Beira, Mozambique;
Administração Regional de Ãguas do Norte (ARA Norte), located in Pemba, Mozambique;
The Ruvuma and South Coast Basin Water Office (RBWO), located in Mtwara, Tanzania;
The Zimbabwe National Water Authority - Runde Catchment Council (ZINWA-Runde), located in Masvingo, Zimbabwe; and,
The Zimbabwe National Water Authority - Save Catchment Council (ZINWA-Save), located in Mutare, Zimbabwe.
The implementing agencies now invite sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for the supply and delivery of hydrometric equipment for the five (5) river basin management institutions in Mozambique, Tanzania and Zimbawe. International Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with the Bank's Rules and Procedures for Procurement of Goods and Works.
Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the Bidding Documents at SADC Secretariat, Shared Watercourses Suport Project, Plot 116, 1st Floor, Room 121, Gaborone International Finance Park, Kgale View, Private Bag 0095, Gaborone, Botswana, from 9:00 to 15:00 hrs, local time on Mondays to Fridays inclusive except on public holidays.

The provisions in the Instructions to Bidders and in the General Conditions are those of the Bank's Standard Bidding Documents for the Procurement of Goods
All Bids must be accompanied by a Bid security of USD 10,000.00 (Ten Thousand American Dollars), in form provided in the Tender Documents.
All bids in one (1) original plus three (3) copies, properly filled in, and enclosed in plain envelopes must be delivered to the Southern African Development Community Secretariat, in Gaborone, Botswana, on 15H00 (GMT+2) of the 12 December 2012 by any of the following means: post, courier, or by hand delivery at the address given below.
Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders' representatives who choose to attend at 15H30 (GMT +2) on 12 December 2012, at the offices below
