The SADC Council of Ministers Meeting is a regular, high-level gathering of ministers from each of the 16 SADC Member States, typically from Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Economic Planning, or Finance. This Council is responsible for overseeing the functioning and development of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and ensuring that its policies and decisions are implemented effectively. These meetings usually occur twice a year, with one in March and another prior to the SADC Summit in August.
The Meeting in Madagascar will also witness the Handover Ceremony of the SADC Chairpersonship by Hon. Professor Amon Murwira, Minister of International Relations and Trade, Republic of Zimbabwe to Hon. Dr Rafaravavitafika Rasata Minister of Foreign Affairs, Republic of Madagascar
