The Tanzania HIV and Drug Use Parliamentary Committee which is currently on a study tour of Botswana this week visited the SADC Secretariat Headquarters. The Committee was met by the SADC Executive Secretary, H.E Dr. Stergomena Lawrence Tax, Mr. Stephen Sianga, Director of Social and Human Development and Special Projects, and other senior officials.
The objective was to learn from the Secretariat how SADC Member States address HIV and AIDS in the region. The visit was specifically focused on sharing experience on the SADC HIV and AIDS Fund, the Regional Framework for Sustainable Financing for HIV and Health, and other regional initiatives on HIV and AIDS, including the HIV Cross Border Initiative.
