On September 17, 2014, a delegation led by Executive Director of the Southern Africa Trust, Dr. Bhekinkosi Moyo, paid a courtesy call on SADC Executive Secretary, Dr. Stergomena Lawrence Tax to brief her on the preparations of the Drivers of Change Awards where she will be serving as the keynote speaker this year. The ceremony will to take place on October 28, 2014 in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The Drivers of Change Awards recognise individuals or organisations from across the southern Africa Region that are making a real impact, especially in developing effective public policies and strategies to overcome poverty. It is awarded in four categories, namely, civil society, government, individual and business.
During the meeting, areas of further cooperation were identified in, amongst others, SADC communications and the implementation of the 34th Summit decision on Industrialisation.
