Secretary of State for External Relations of Angola visit to the SADC Secretariat

The Secretary of State for External Relations of the Republic of Angola, Mr. Manuel Domingos Augusto, visited the SADC Secretariat in Gaborone, Botswana on 24th March 2016.

During his visit, he met the Executive Secretary, Dr. Stergomena Lawrence Tax, the Deputy Executive Secretary – Finance and Administration, Ms Emilie Mushobekwa, and the Director of Organ Mr Jorge Cardoso.  The meeting was followed by a tour at the Early Warning Center, the SADC Library, and the Registry.

The Secretary of State commended the SADC Secretariat for a very rich Library that contains all the pictures and documents from SADC creation to date, and for the initiative to improve the Registry to better manage SADC records.

While at the Early warning Center, The Secretary of State exchanged views with staff, and the Head of the Center, Mr. Habib Kabanga made a brief presentation on its mandate, activities and the advantages.

Mr. Manuel Domingos Augusto was in Gaborone to attend the meeting of the 10 Southern African countries namely Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
