SADC Launches 2016 Summit Preparations in the Kingdom of Swaziland

SADC has launched preparations for the 36th SADC Summit Heads of State and Government to be held in August 2016 in Swaziland. As part of the 36th Summit preparations Launch, H.E. Dr. Stergomena Lawrence Tax paid courtesy calls on His Majesty King Mswati III of the Kingdom of Swaziland and Deputy Chairperson of SADC, as well as to the Prime Minister, H.E. Dr. Sibusiso Barnabas Dlamini. The SADC Secretariat’s Team led by Dr. S. L. Tax, and comprised of Ms. Bester Ncube and Dr. Charles Mubita held preparatory meetings with the Minister of Economic Planning and Development of the Kingdom of Swaziland, Prince Hlangusemphi and his team, comprised of the Permanent Secretary Mr. Bertram Steward, and Director Chazile Magongo, among others.

The SADC Executive Secretary expressed her gratitude to the Government of the Kingdom of Swaziland for accepting to host the 36th SADC Summit. Dr. Tax informed the media that a number of meetings and activities will take place in the Kingdom during the year of Swaziland’s tenure as Chair of SADC. She outlined that SADC is people centered and private sector driven. She encouraged the media to promote and publicise SADC by informing the citizens and enabling the private sector to partake in the SADC programmes and activities.
