On July 3rd, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo) provided the Ministerial Double Troika with a brief of the security situation in the country, noting a marked deterioration in Eastern DR Congo. A report published by the UN Security Council on June 27th corroborates the DR Congo brief. SADC supports the Government of the DR Congo in protecting its sovereignty and territorial integrity. The Ministerial Double Troika urges those involved in destabilization to refrain from its actions and recommends that SADC Heads of State consider urgent engagement with the Great Lakes Region.
