The High Commissioner of Namibia to Botswana H.E. Mbapeua Muvangua presented his letter of credentials to the SADC Executive Secretary, H.E. Dr. Stergomena Lawrence Tax on 31st March, 2016.
The SADC Executive Secretary and the Namibian High Commissioner emphasised the importance of cooperation between the SADC Secretariat and SADC Heads of Missions accredited to SADC in enhancing interface between the Secretariat and Member States. They agreed to enhance information sharing and that regular engagement between the Secretariat and Member States, through resident SADC envoys, is necessary to improve participation of Member States in the SADC integration and development agenda.
Dr. Tax assured the High Commissioner of her commitment and availability to cooperate with Namibia and other Missions in accelerating the SADC integration and development agenda. The High Commissioner paid tribute to the Executive Secretary for facilitating his accreditation, and placed himself at the disposal of the Secretariat in maintaining and strengthening coordination between Namibia and the Secretariat.
