The Mining Industry Association of Southern Africa pays a Courtesy Call on SADC Executive Secretary

Senior Executives of the Mining Industry Association of Southern Africa (MIASA) today paid a courtesy call on the SADC Executive Secretary, H.E Dr. Stergomena Lawrence Tax to introduce the Association to SADC and highlight the African Mining Vision. MIASA was represented at the meeting by Mr. Charles Siwawa, Chief Executive Officer of the Botswana Chamber of Mines and Mr. Vusi Mabena, Senior Executive: Transformation and Stakeholder Relations of the Chamber of Mines of South Africa. Among other things, they discussed the Southern African Power Pool and Energy issues; transportation networks within SADC countries; harmonisation of mining policies within SADC countries; and the link between SADC Secretariat and MIASA offices.
