Launch of the joint meeting of SADC Ministers of Health & Ministers responsible for HIV and Aids Programmes

The Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Health in the Kingdom of Swaziland, Dr Simon Zwane launched the meeting of the Joint meeting of SADC Ministers of Health and Ministers Responsible for HIV and AIDS in The Kingdom of Swaziland on the November 7, 2016.

In his welcoming remarks he encouraged Member States to own the deliberation of the meeting which will ensure that Ministers will make informed decisions when called to do so. He also encouraged them to take note of recommendations in form of protocols and others important documents.

He further called all to manage the meeting by taking stock of all important issues relating to health issues which affects the SADC region.

The meeting will consider the Public Health programme approach that deals with Disease Prevention; Disease Control; and Disease Management for the attainment of quality of life of the people in the SADC Region.

The meeting will also consider the promotion of ownership and leadership of HIV and AIDS Programmes by Member States.

Dr Zwane will continue Chairing closed deliberations of the meeting for Senior Health officers until Wednesday when the joint meeting of SADC Ministers of Health and Ministers Responsible for HIV and AIDS will officially be opened.
