King Letsie Thanks SADC

The King Letsie III of the Kingdom of Lesotho has expressed his gratitude to SADC for facilitating the peace process in the country.

Re-opening Parliament last week, as a key first step in a peace deal spearheaded by SADC, the King said:

“On behalf of the Basotho nation, I would like to express our deep-rooted gratitude to SADC for expeditiously coming to our assistance at this critical moment in our political journey.”

The King told the 120-member chamber, as well as distinguished invited guests who included the SADC mediator, South African Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa, SADC Executive Secretary, Dr. Stergomena Lawrence Tax, that Basotho should put the interests of the country before any other interest, guard and nurture peace and reconciliation.
