A delegation of 7 German Members of Parliament led by the Chairperson of the Parliamentary friendship Group –SADC-Member- States, Mrs Dagmar Freitag and accompanied by the German Ambassador to Botswana, H.E Mr Rolf Ulrich visited SADC Secretariat on June 1, 2015.
The Parliamentarians met with SADC Deputy Executive Secretary for Regional Integration, Dr Thembinkosi Mhlongo and SADC Secretariat Management Team.
The purpose of their visit was to have an exchange of views on developments in SADC and on German cooperation with SADC. Among others, the discussions touched on issues such as Transboundary Water Resource Management, Peace and Security, Investment Opportunities for the German Private Sector, Renewable Energy, Use and Protection of Transboundary Natural Resources, Climate Change, Environment, Education and Employment.
