Clear follow-up actions were agreed upon on the political and security situations in the SADC Member States. The courtesy call on President Nyusi was preceded by a consultative meeting between the Executive Secretary and Honourable Oldemiro Baloi, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Republic of Mozambique and Chairperson of the SADC Ministerial Committee of the Organ.
The Executive Secretary was accompanied by Justice Mpaphi Phumaphi, the Head of the Commission of Inquiry to the Kingdom of Lesotho, Mr Jorge Cardoso, Director of the Organ, and Dr. Charles Mubita, Communication Officer.
SADC Executive Secretary, H.E Dr. Stergomena Lawrence Tax has paid a courtesy call on H.E. Filipe Nyusi, President of the Republic of Mozambique and Chairperson of the Organ on Politics, Defence and Security Cooperation on 9th September, 2015 to brief him on the political and security situation in the SADC Region, particularly in Madagascar, DRC and Kingdom of Lesotho, and preparations for elections in the United republic of Tanzania.
