International Observer Missions (SADC, AU, ECF & ACG) to the Presidential and National Assembly Elections in the Republic of Namibia release their Preliminary Statements

The Head of the SADC Electoral Observation Mission (SEOM) to the Presidential and National Assembly Elections in the Republic of Namibia, Honourable Anne Semamba Makinda, former Speaker of the National Assembly of the United Republic of Tanzania, on 29 November 2024 released the Preliminary Statement on the conduct of the Presidential and National Assembly Elections in Namibia held on 27 November 2024.

The release of the SEOM Preliminary Statement was jointly conducted with Heads of Mission of three other International Electoral Observation Missions to the Presidential and National Assembly Elections in the Republic of Namibia which included Her Excellency Dr. Speciosa Naigaga Wandira Kazibwe, former Vice President of the Republic of Uganda and Head of the African Union Election Observation Mission, Honourable Judge Priscilla Makanyara Chigumba, Chairperson of the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission and Head of the Electoral Commissions Forum of Southern

African Countries, Honourable Tshepo Monethi, former President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Lesotho and Head of the African Centre for Governance Election Mission. 

The release of the Preliminary Statements by the International Observer Missions was attended by a cross section of people which included the SADC Executive Secretary, Mme. Bineta Diop, Special Envoy of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission on Women, Peace, and Security, Ambassadors and High Commissioners accredited to the Republic of Namibia, Members of the Troika of the SADC Organ on Politics, Defence and Security Cooperation from the Republics of Malawi, Zambia, and the United Republic of Tanzania, Members of the SADC Electoral Advisory Council (SEAC), Political Parties representatives, Members of the Civil Society and Religious Organisations and the media.
