    REGIONAL POLITICAL COOPERATION (RPC) PROGRAMME

    Short Term Consultancy Services for the Development of the Regional Training Curriculum and IEC Materials on Trafficking in Persons for the SADC Region

    The EU-funded “Support to SADC Regional Political Cooperation” is designed to strengthen the capacity of the SADC Secretariat and more specifically the Organ on Politics, Defence and Security Cooperation (“the Organ”) in implementing its mandate to effect regional integration in the political and security sectors. The implementation of the programme’s activities will be partly carried out by the SADC Secretariat’s Gender Unit in close collaboration with the Regional Police element in the Organ, under the modality of a Contribution Agreement between the SADC and the EU.

    The SADC Secretariat, through the Gender Unit, intends to engage a firm/ institution to develop a Regional Anti-Trafficking Training Curriculum and Information, Education and Communication (IEC) Materials on trafficking in persons (TIP). This assignment falls under the Key Result Area, namely, “Raised Awareness, Cooperation and Action Against Trafficking in Persons, Especially Women and Children, in the SADC Region”

    The objective of this assignment is to develop SADC’s Regional Anti-Trafficking Training Curriculum and IEC materials on TIP. The contractor shall also facilitate at a validation workshop comprising SADC Member States and other stakeholders at which they shall present drafts of the curriculum and IEC materials in order to solicit for inputs from stakeholders and partners.

    The SADC Secretariat now invites eligible firms/institutions to express their interest in providing the aforementioned services. Interested firms/institutions must provide information detailing their qualification to perform the services including description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, recent references that may be contacted, including financial details for the last three years, etc. The Expression of Interest write-up should not exceed 5 pages. Submissions should also include samples of information materials that the institutions have produced in the recent past, for example, training curriculum, brochures, pamphlets, posters, documentaries etc.

    The establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the SADC Procurement Guidelines (August 2011).

    Interested consultants may obtain further information from the undersigned, during office hours, 09:00 to 16:00 hours, local time.

    Expressions of Interest, duly addressed to the Head-Procurement, SADC Secretariat should be deposited in the Tender box at the SADC Secretariat situated on Plot No. 54385, CBD, Gaborone, Botswana, not later than 15:00 hours on Friday 9th January 2015. Opening of the Expressions of Interest will follow immediately thereafter in the conference room at the SADC Secretariat. HOWEVER, TELEFAX OR ELECTRONIC EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
