With the entry into force of the Charter\, the\nMCSCC was then established as a Regional Organisation by SA DC Member\nStates viz. Angola\, Botswana\, Eswatini\, Lesotho\, Madagascar \, Malawi\,\nMozambique\, Namibia\, South Africa\, United Republic of Tanz ania and\nZambia\, with Seychelles acceding to the Charter in July 2023. P rogress\nhas been made towards operationalising the MCSCC as summarised be low:\n(i) In November 2017\, Ministers of Agriculture and Food Security\,\ nFisheries and Aquaculture approved the establishment of the Interim\nProj ect Management Unit (IPMU) based in Maputo\, Mozambique at the\nMinistry o f Sea\, Inland Waters and Fisheries. \n\nMinisters also appointed the SAD C Regional Technical Team (RTT) to\nguide the work of the IPMU in operatio nalising the MCSCC. Approved 10\nApril 2024 (ii) The Government of Mozambi que seconded two officials\n(Coordinator and a Fisheries Monitoring Contro l and Surveillance\nExpert) to the IPMU since 2019 and on 20 April 2023\, the Honourable\nMinister of Sea\, Inland Waters and Fisheries of the Repub lic of\nMozambique\, Honourable Lídia Cardoso handed over keys of the MCS CC\nInterim Offices to Secretariat.
