The illicit trade in alcohol and tobacco products has significant implications for tax revenues, health and social objectives and spending as well as for the profitability and expansion of legitimate businesses and consequences for employment, crime and respect for the law
This document reports on the findings of a study commissioned by the SADC Secretartiat to review the illicit tarde inexcisable products with particular reference to alchohol and tobacco products within the region.
The findings are based on research and information obtained during the inception research phase in Gaborone, including evaluation of the information provided by the 14 Member States in the questionnaire.
