    Through the delivery of its mandate of Regional Integration and Poverty Eradication, the Southern African Development Community (SADC) operates a series of Services and Centres to provide governments, businesses, and citizen’s access to important operational services and information. SADCs services and centres focus in areas where access to regional information is most important, or where there was a gap in the provision of such information at a regional level.

    • SADC Accreditation Service

      Established in terms of the Standardisation Quality Assurance, Accreditation and Meteorology (SQAM) Memorandum of Understanding, this centre is a multi-economy accreditation non-profit body based in Botswana, responsible for the accreditation of laboratories, certification bodies and inspection bodies to international standards.

    • Climate Services Centre

      This centre provides operational, regional services for monitoring and predicting extremes in climate condition, and develops and disseminates meteorological, environmental and hydro-meteorological products for use by regional and Member State agencies.

    • Regional Climate Data Processing Centre

      The SADC Regional Climate Data Processing Centre provides climate information, prediction and climate services, early warning and related applications to support sustainable development in the SADC region.

      Scheduled for launch in 2013, the Regional Poverty Observatory will function as a forum where all the stakeholders working in poverty eradication at the regional and national levels meet to evaluate and monitor the implementation of the Regional Poverty Reduction Framework
