    • Executive Secretary

      The SADC Executive Secretary, Dr Tomaz Augusto Salomão, is a former Minister of Finance and Planning in Mozambique who is well known and respected in the Region. His appointment was announced at the Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) held on 17-18 August 2005 in Gaborone, Botswana, and renewed in 2009 at the Summit held in Kinshasa, DR Congo.

    • Deputy Executive Secretary: Regional Integration

      A geologist by profession, engineer Joao Samuel Caholo is a former Deputy Minister in the Angolan Government. The Angolanl-born Secretary was appointed into the SADC Secretariat as Deputy Executive Secretary in charge of Regional Integration at the SADC Silver Jubilee Summit, held in Botswana in August 2005.

      Ms Emilie Ayaza Mushobekwa is the current Deputy Executive Secretary responsible for Finance and Administration within the SADC Secretariat. She was appointed by the Summit of Heads of State and Government in August 2010, in Windhoek, Namibia.
