Five SADC Countries Rewarded for Commitment in Eliminating Malaria

Five SADC countries namely: South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia, Namibia and Mozambique received the 2013 African Leaders Malaria Alliance Award (ALMA) Award during African Union Summit held in Addis-Ababa in January 2013.

On 20 March 2013, the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) and the European Union (EU) resumed its Political Dialogue, five years after their last Dialogue meeting.

HIV and AIDS Fund Meeting

SADC Secretariat facilitated the organization of the 4th Meeting of the Steering Committee of SADC HIV and AIDS Fund held on March 11 -12, 2013 in Johannesburg, South Africa. The objectives of the meeting were to assess the progress made in the implementation of the funds, review the report of year one of the implementation of the fund and define the modalities for the second round of the implementation.
