ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

The Network is organized as follows:

Steering Committee

A Steering Committee comprising three Member States on rotating basis, SADC Plant Genetic Resources Centre, SADC Secretariat and the donor, Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). The Steering Committee provides guidance to the Project Management Unit and approves work plans and budgets. The Steering Committee serves as a link to the SADC Food, Agriculture and Natural Resources Directorate.

Coordination

A Senior Project Coordinator is in charge of the Network’s day to day functioning and has the responsibility to initiate and lead tasks, and to provide technical support to and coordination of seed activities in the region.

National Seed Focal Points

Activities at the national level are conducted by the National Seed Focal Points established in all SADC Member States. The National Seed Focal Points provide seed information to the Network Coordinating Office in Gaborone.
