The RRSU offers satellite image products with an operational grid size of 0.1 degrees (approximately 11 km.) in the geographic projection. In addition to a database of satellite images for southern Africa, the RRSU keeps has vector datasets for SADC countries, which include information on national and sub-national administrative boundaries, elevation, infra-structure, hydrology, major growing areas, forests, protected areas and cultural sites. Training and technical backstopping is provided in different formats such as in-service training, or training through regional and national workshops and secondment of experts. The RRSU has the technical facilities to host small groups of trainees.
