Perennial and non-perennial water layers in SADC countries Perennial and non-perennial water layers in SADC countries on a country by country basis, and for the entire SADC region. Filename: cc_PWAT.BNA Perennial water polygons cc_NPWAT.BNA Non-perennial water polygons (including wet sand)
Surface water bodies of SADC countries Surface water bodies (reservoirs, lakes and swamps) in SADC countries on a country by country basis, and for the entire SADC region. The following water bodies are included :
  • 1. situated within the physical boundaries of mainland SADC
  • 2. if seasonal, appearing at least once every 10 years
  • 3. some geographical references (village, district,...) or coordinates known
  • 4. stagnant water with a surface area bigger than 1 ha
Attributes include surface area (in ha) and capacity (in cubic metres) for the water body points.
