Implementation
And Coordination Of Agricultural Research And Training (ICART)
Support to Regional Networks:
One of the components of the ICART project deals
with the support to networks in the region and the support to
networking in the region.
The Situation Analysis study on Agricultural Research and Training in
the region has come up with some options for
network support, as part of the Network Support Strategy.
The issue of support to networks has been discussed at the first
Assembly of Stakehokders and will be reviewed at the second assembly of
stakeholders.
Announcement:
SADC-FANR through the Implementation and Coordination of Agricultural
Research and Training (ICART) project and with funding from the
European Union will be supporting selected networking activities in the
region until the end of the year 2010. Opportunities for support to
networking activities in agricultural research and training in the SADC
region are hereby advertised through a request
for expressions of interest (details).

Capacity- building:
The ICART project has launched a programme to build
capacity of regional stakeholders, e.g. Proposal writing courses in
September 2008 (Group 1
& Group
2) and in April 2009.
Other
capacity building opportunities are envisaged.
