MEDIA ACCREDITATION
Access to the venue of the Summit and its preceding meetings including the Media Centre shall strictly be on presentation of an accreditation badge issued for the purpose.
Media practitioners wishing to access the venue are thus required to apply for accreditation with the Technical Preparatory Committee for the Summit by not later than July 31, 2011, by submitting the following details:
1 – Duly completed Media Accreditation Form (attached).
2 – Copy of identification card.
3 – 1 colour passport-size photograph.
Media practitioners from outside Angola requiring an entry visa should apply for such a visa at the Angolan diplomatic missions in their countries and should do so in good time because it might take an average of up to thirty (30) days to process.
For security reasons, last-minute accreditation requests or those filed after the set deadline of 19 July shall not be granted.
These procedures for the accreditation of media practitioners will be disseminated as follows:
The Technical Preparatory Committee will send a press release to journalists and news rooms of the Luanda-based media outlets both national and international, informing them of the set procedures/deadlines for the accreditation of members of the media.
A Note Verbale will be sent to diplomatic and consular missions to Angola, particularly those of SADC Member States, containing the same text as referred to in the above paragraph.
Each embassy may accredit a staff member working with the media, should they wish to assist the journalists who comprise the delegation from their country.
MEDIA CENTRE
A fully fledged media centre with working space, internet connectivity, telephones, printers, fax machines, and copiers will be availed at the venue of the Summit and preparatory meetings.
REQUESTS FOR INTERVIEWS
The officers responsible for the media from each delegation may approach the Summit organising committee to get the contact details to make requests for interviews. This can be done either prior to or during the course of the Summit.
OFFICIAL PHOTOGRAPHERS
Official photographers and cameramen are required to be accredited in the same way as any other member of the delegation.
