The Southern African Development Community (SADC) was established in 1980 and is a grouping of fifteen Southern African and Indian Ocean States with the common vision of ensuring economic well being, improvement in the standards of living and quality of life, freedom, social justice and peace and security for the people of Southern Africa.
SADC is currently undergoing a transformation process, the main purpose of which is to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of SADC policies and programmes, through a more coherent and better coordinated strategy. A Regional Indicative Strategic Development Plan (RISDP) has been adopted to guide the process of deepening regional integration and cooperation and its implementation started in 2005.
The SADC Secretariat invites qualified, experienced and result-oriented applicants who are citizens of SADC to apply for the following positions in the SADC Secretariat. All positions are based at the SADC Headquarters in Gaborone, Botswana:

The main purpose of these positions is to translate relevant official SADC documents.
The position holders will report to the Senior Translators-Portuguese or French, as the case may be.

Potential candidates shall be nationals of SADC member countries and the following documents shall be attached to their application:
